We view motorcycles as art in motion, and each year we work with an artist to help capture the essence of some of the bikes in our collection to adorn the labels of our MotoDoffo wines. We have had the immense pleasure of working with truly talented and unique individuals who have each brought their own style and techniques to decorate our wine bottles.
2023 Featured Artist: Sara Liberte
Series: 2020 Vintage MotoDoffo Wines
We are excited to feature photographer Sara Liberte with this year’s lineup of MotoDoffo wine labels! Sara is a professional photographer, author of two books, and former owner and mechanic of a motorcycle repair shop. With decades of experience in the motorcycle industry and work that is featured in magazines and art museums alike, we identify with Sara’s philosophy on riding:
“Crushing miles on the open road provides an escape. Escape from the mundane office job and the daily perils of life. Piloting a motorcycle down the dotted line, a sort of liberation envelops you and navigates which way to go. Riding IS a sensory experience, a passion that drives riders into a transcendent state of nirvana.
A visit to Doffo winery is much like riding a motorcycle. It’s thrilling, allowing you to disappear from the crowds, be welcomed like family, and reap the magic of the vineyard’s aromas, tastes, and sights of the rolling hills. It is an escape, a sensory experience, much like grabbing the throttle and disappearing into the landscape. Holding a glass of Doffo wine can take you to that level of freedom.”
2022 Featured Artist: Roland Sands
Series: 2019 Vintage MotoDoffo Wines
Roland comes from pure motorcycle industry pedigree and first set out to conquer the race track on two wheels. However, after deciding to trade in his race leathers for design tools he made a name for himself designing and building custom motorcycles and aftermarket products, forming Roland Sands Designs (RSD) in 2005. Today the company is one of the most popular producers of apparel and hard parts for Harley-Davidson, Indian and BMW motorcycles. The RSD crew continues to support racing with race teams in various series and with their own Super Hooligan National Championship series. We are honored to welcome Roland and his innovative and unique talents as this year’s featured label artist! Learn more at rolandsands.com or by finding them on Facebook, Instagram or YouTube.
2021 Featured Artist: Chris White
Series: 2018 Vintage MotoDoffo Wines
Line / Distance / Time / Moment
These are the concepts that this year’s featured artist, Chris White, uses to describe his work. Like us, Chris views motorcycles as more than machines; he sees them as motion, energy and movement waiting to be unleashed. Using mixed media and drawing on geometric patterns and grids to help him convey the motion of the machine, Chris has created some truly unique and inspiring renditions of some very special motorcycles in the MotoDoffo Collection. You can learn more about Chris and his work on his website (www.buzzvizualz.com) or by finding him on Instagram @buzzvizualz
2020 Featured Artist: Doug Breuninger

Keeping with the MotoDoffo tradition of combining wine, motorcycles and art, we have commissioned four new original works from the talented Doug Breuninger. This LA-based artist has made a name for himself in the automotive and motorcycle worlds with his technical and realistic drawings and paintings done on Post-It notes! Doug’s work has been featured in magazines, at car and motorcycle shows, and even on Hot Wheels packages, and will represent 3 different motorcycles from our collection on the 2017 vintage of MotoDoffo wines to be released next year.

2019 Featured Artist: Makoto Endo
Series: 2016 Vintage MotoDoffo Wines
We first discovered the incredible work of artist, Makoto Endo, at the 2016 International Motorcycle Show in Long Beach, California. His style is unique and his process is fascinating to watch, as he applies black ink to a large canvas spread across the floor using nothing but a chopstick. After a brief conversation, Endo agreed to produce three original works for the 2016 line of MotoDoffo wines.
Some of you may recognize his name and his work from one of our MotoGP parties in 2018. We invited Endo out to Doffo Winery to create his first work live on the MotoBarrel Room patio! Attendees were mesmerized as Endo brought his vision to life in a one-of-a-kind depiction of Marcelo’s prized 1947 Gilera Saturno Sport.

2018 Featured Artist: Robert Carter
Series: 2015 Vintage MotoDoffo Wines
Great wine deserves a great label, and the 2015 MotoDoffo wines are no exception. We have commissioned three original works of hand-painted art from renowned motorsports artist Robert Carter, each inspired by our family’s love of riding and racing motorcycles. It’s not every day that your bottle of wine features a piece of art like this, so we have enclosed in this shipment prints of both the Super Tinto and Gran Tinto label artwork. We hope you display them proudly for years to come!
